the pieces that didn't explain themselves

the contrast stripe on this one is doing more work than it looks like. loose at the shoulders, long at the sleeve, the kind of sweater that makes the rest of the outfit stop trying so hard.

just wore it.

i kept coming back to it. a denim dress that doesn't feel like a denim dress. the high waist and the buttons and the way the sleeve sits - it reads like something you found rather than bought.

it works on pavement. it works in low light.

linen and lace and a bandage collar and somehow it doesn't feel like too much. the puff sleeve lands softly. the patchwork detail is small enough to almost miss.

still thinking about this one.

the asymmetric hem is the part that got me. mermaid silhouette, hollow lace, vintage patchwork - it should be a lot. it isn't. it's the kind of dress that earns its presence without announcing it.
